Welding Automation

Welding automation,  just 2 words, but they can cover a wealth of information.

For the sake of simplicity, we shall try to keep this brief and to the point, and trust we cover the topics you are searching for.

At it's simplest, automation can be a basic weld fixture, the prime purpose being, to hold parts, in the correct relationship, to each other, prior to manual welding.

At the other extreme, we could be looking at a multi-station, robotic work cell, fully automatic system, with a minimum of manual labor.

Another point, to be considered, is the type of welding process we shall investigate.

In our world, we shall limit things to:

1. G.M.A.W. (Gas-Metal-Arc-Weld) The process of choice, for robotic weld cell applications.
    
2. Laser.
    
3. Ultrasonic-For plastic materials only.
