The Project Schedule is a vital document, that if correctly constructed and used correctly, throughout the length of the project, can contribute directly to success. Microsoft Project is widely used and recommended, by automate-your-factory.com.

Below is a List of Major Milestones Required:

1st Milestone.

Completion of Design Engineering.
Review and approval by the customer, is required.

2nd Milestone.

Completion of all engineering, including all detail drawings and bills of material.
Review and approval by the customer, is required. After this point, any changes requested, will probably incur extra costs-so be warned!

3rd Milestone.

Delivery of major purchased items to vendor's facility. If the project, is a complex assembly system, for instance, then a large portion of the project, will consist of items purchased, by the supplier, then this milestone, will apply.

4th Milestone.

Start of Mechanical Assembly.

5th Milestone.

Start of Electrical Assembly.

Completion of Mechanical and Electrical Assembly.

Customer acceptance.
At this event, the complete system, should demonstrate performance, from a cycle time perspective and a quality standpoint. Now, maybe, it can be seen, why the R.F.Q. is so important. (Please refer back to Automation-Management)

Ship complete system.

Install system.

Customer Acceptance (After Installation.)
The project is now complete, and the warranty starts, from this date.
